what to do with wet washcloths after shower

  • Okay had the aforementioned consequence when we had 4 kids at domicile. Instead of washcloths get them plastic scrunchy things for bathing. Then hang extra metal decorative shower hooks that are open on the back of the shower curtain for hanging the scrunchy. For the girls to wash their faces put upward decorative hooks on the side of the vanity or wall. Hope y'all find a solution.

  • We e'er reuse our towels then they get hung up on hooks. My hubby and I each accept dedicated hooks and towel bars. For the kids bathroom we have lots of hooks but instead of a dedicated hook per kid we use clothes pins with their names on them. When they hang upwardly their towel they attach the dress pin with their proper noun on information technology to the towel. When they crave a fresh towel they remove the erstwhile i the next mean solar day when they are prepare to hang the fresh towel. This usually eliminates the wet towels in the hamper.

    • @Samof5 We have hooks and rods for the towels. I was asking about the washcloths. They use two a day and they are all over the place hanging to dry.

Add a second shower rod, within the tub/shower surface area to hang the "wet overflow." It serves the same purpose as a towel rod, but out of sight.

  • I may take to try this. I am worried nigh rust, though. I know our current shower rod is first to rust. I have also noticed that they don't e'er remove things hanging from the rod earlier taking a shower. This causes a cloth that is drying, to become wet again, which increases the problem.

@Andria Torpey I'm rather certain that the rust issue would take some fourth dimension to occur, however, possibly you could spray it with poly before installing. Each end would have a safe cap, so your walls wouldn't exist afflicted with rust. Y'all could too use a slice of PVC, which would never rust.

  • Is there someplace yous tin put a small fan? Even if yous accept to install a shelf up high? I keep a modest fan running about constantly in my bathroom. It really helps with air circulation, to dry moisture wearing apparel/towels, and to proceed mold/mildew out of the expanse. Even if you have an frazzle fan, it would still help.

    • @Marilyn Highley We do have a minor exhaust fan in the ceiling.

  • I got another trash tin can that was just for used washcloths they can hang them over the edges to dry out off and then they go put within the trash can till laundry fourth dimension.

    • @ I thought about something like that filled with a solution of water and Borax. Like you would soak a baby'due south soiled cloth diapers in until they are laundered. I just don't know where I would keep it.

I have a towel bar at the back end of the shower over the tub. Moisture washcloths all hang over each other in that location. Usually by the next forenoon they are dry, and so I put them in the laundry basket. Promise this helps. Mom of four kids.

  • Become ii large 3m stick upwardly hooks and hang a plastic rod on the hooks. You can get a broom or mop from the dollar store that has a plastic handle and merely cutting the broom terminate off to the size you need. Hang this at the far side of the tub/shower uttermost from the water and up about the height of a shower curtain. No parts to get rusty and a place to hang the wet items.

  • I keep a smaller laundry basket in the shower/tub for Simply damp wet things. It's full in 1-2 days & so automatically goes into the washer~

  • Its been a couple of years, I would suppose you lot have figured out this problem. haha. I am a jeans, Tshirts, etc. person, and I don't have nice whites to launder, or fancy work clothes, so all of my washing is "when the washer is full, I turn it on." I launder up before I go pond, don't shower until I get back. I wash the domestic dog's faces with a dark washcloth in the am, etc. so I merely toss them in the washer in the morning. I unremarkably wash clothes twice a week, and I've never noticed whatever mildew on them or mildew smell when they are make clean. merely since I don't sort colors, information technology doesn't matter if they are all in there together.

  • Same problem all girls. The moisture washcloths are making me basics. Finally color coded by daughter and then I could see who is using multiple each solar day. I am going to buy a rectangular serving plate for them so they are great and in i identify.

Get a wetbag, similar those used by fabric diaperers or for swimming gear. Wet washcloths go in there, and then directly into the side by side launder load. You do have to keep on top of washing them inside a solar day (two very occasionally), merely you can hang it upward.
